The India staff, under the guidance of Jagadguru Sai Maa, is dedicated to uplifting vulnerable communities across India—both in rural areas and in the heart of its cities. Their work reaches women, children, and families who often face the greatest hardships and the least access to essential resources. Through hunger relief, medical camps, cataract surgery programs, and women’s empowerment initiatives, the team brings meaningful support to those who are too often overlooked. Rooted in the principles of love, service, and oneness, the India staff’s humanitarian efforts are a living expression of divine compassion that honors the dignity of every soul.

Slums of the the Harishchandra Ghat
India is home to the largest undernourished population in the world—one-quarter of deaths across the globe of children under the age of five occur in India. In the area surrounding our Ashram, 44% of the population live in slums and earn as little as 70 cents a day. That’s why we serve over 80,000 breakfasts and 15,000 meals each year.

Six days a week, the Ashram staff provides the community with breakfast, which means that at least one meal is guaranteed. Kids who eat breakfast are more likely to attend school and perform better. A free breakfast isn’t just a meal – it’s hope, health and knowing someone cares for you.

Once a month, we provide the community with a full, nutritious meal. All meals, blessed by Jagadguru Sai Maa, are meant to nourish both body and soul. Imagine a hungry family’s joy and relief when they learn they can eat as many servings as they wish!
Cataracts are widespread in underserved communities across India, particularly among the elderly. Contributing factors like poor nutrition, low-quality cooking oil, and limited health education increase the risk. Each year, the India team and dedicated doctors screen over 500 individuals, providing free cataract surgeries to all in need, along with medicine and eyeglasses to hundreds more.
Our India staff and medical professionals—including chiropractors, OB-GYNs, ophthalmologists, and general physicians—welcome underserved community members for free medical exams, treatment, and essential medicines. For many, this is their only access to healthcare.
The Dreams to Degrees program empowers young women from underserved communities to pursue higher education by providing full scholarships, mentorship, and essential resources. Through this support, students gain the tools and confidence to transform their futures and uplift their communities.
