Our lineage, emanating from Her Holiness Sai Maa, carries the spiritual influence of the Divine Mother, Indian, esoteric and Avatar lineages and traditions.
A lineage can be described as a group of individuals who can be traced back to a common ancestor or founder. As for a spiritual lineage, the traditions, principles, teachings and practices are passed down through generations of gurus, disciples, teachers, and students.
By becoming aware of our lineage, we can appreciate a new aspect of ourselves, and benefit from the resources and teachings of that lineage. We become part of the energetic connection of all those who have devoted themselves to the lineage over the years, and we can form relationships with those who are in the lineage. Finally, we can serve the values and legacy of our lineage through the actions we take.
Sai Maa embodies Mother Divine, the Devi (Goddess) whose divine feminine creative energy underlies all of creation. Sai Maa’s presence awakens this divine potential within us, regardless of gender, bringing greater expression of the pure love, compassion, and wisdom inherent in all. It is for this reason that we use the greeting “Om Jai Jai Sai Maa” which acknowledges the presence of the divine feminine in oneself and the other.
Sai Maa is a great esoteric master whose work has been dedicated to serving humanity’s spiritual awakening. Maa will often speak of the Christ lineage and of Maa’s gang, including ascended masters and light beings who work with and through Maa for our evolution. Maa’s Beloved Guru, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, is the cosmic Avatar of this century. The Avatar lineage began with the incarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, continued with Sathya Sai Baba, and will be revealed in the next incarnation as Prema Sai Baba.
Maa brings forth the love and joy of the Vishnu lineage and the transformative, purifying power of the Shiva lineage.
We have been blessed by the presence of many great Indian gurus who have been deeply connected with Sai Maa. These great masters, who have offered their wisdom and initiations into ancient lineages, include Guruji, Gurunathan, and Sri Sri Sri Tiruchi Mahaswamigal (Apaji) and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Satuwa Baba Maharaj (Maharaji).
First as 1008 Mahamandaleshwar in 2005, and then as Jagadguru in 2007, Sai Maa was initiated into a Vishnu lineage tracing back 2,600 years to the great enlightened sage Vishnuswami who was devoted to Gopal, the baby form of Krishna. This lineage is one of right action and service (Sanatana Dharma), focused on living a life of high values that contribute to the greatest good of society. In 2019, nine members of the Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya were initiated at the Kumbh Mela into the Vishnuswami lineage as 108 Mahamandaleshwar.
In 2007, the Vaishnav Sadhu Society honored Her Holiness Sai Maa with the title of Jagadguru Bhaktimayi Meera Bai at the Ardh Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, India. Endorsed by the highly revered Sri Satuwa Baba Maharaj, Sai Maa is the first female to be awarded this prestigious title in India’s 2,700 years of the Vishnuswami lineage and the known history of the Kumbh Mela.
The term Jagadguru is one of the highest designations in the Hindu tradition. From Sanskrit, jagat means “universe” and guru means “teacher” or “master.” Jagadgurus are recognized as embodying the power and influence to transform the entire planet.
The Nirmohi Ani Akhara furthers the tradition started by Vishnuswami, and is dedicated to continuing the principles and service of the lineage. The Akhara expresses its legacy of service (Sanatana Dharma) through humanitarian projects, ashrams (places of Vedic study), temples, and spiritual seminars across India. Every twelve years, the Akhara gathers at the Kumbh Mela offering food, lodging, medical services, and spiritual programs for all in attendance.

Every breath of the Brahmachari, every cell that breathes in a Brahmachari is for God, Supreme, the Self, the Great Self. The purpose, the joy, the beauty of the devotion of Brahmacharya is the seva of enlightenment.
The Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya is the monastic lineage of Her Holiness Sai Maa composed of devoted disciples who have taken lifelong vows and committed themselves to a Brahmacharya lifestyle of sadhana (spiritual practice) and service for global enlightenment.
The members of the Order serve as a ministry by living, embodying and sharing Sai Maa’s teachings. They are located on four continents, and offer teaching programs and spiritual coaching, carry out humanitarian work, build community, and support Sai Maa’s global presence, including Shaktidhaam, Sai Maa’s ashram in Varanasi, India.
Nine members of the Order were initiated as Mahamandaleshwars at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India on February 8, 2019. Those receiving this honor join one of the four Vishnu lineages, the Vishnuswami lineage that dates back over 2700 years.
Brahmacharya is a Sanskrit word which can be translated to “moving toward” or “leading to Brahma” (the Creator, Ultimate Reality, Supreme Self). When one takes initiation as a Brahmachari (male) or Brahmacharini (female) in the Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya, he or she takes lifelong vows to live a life of celibacy, purity, discipline and devotion to the guru. While members of the Order may be engaged in a wide range of outer activities, the inner focus of their being is always self-realization.
Being anointed as Mahamandaleshwar in the Akhil Bharatiya Shri Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhara of India weaves us more tightly to the fabric of Sanatan Dharma and the Vishnuswami Lineage, which dates back to over 2700 years. We are restrengthening our vows to contribute to society and facilitate the evolution of higher humanity. As Mahamandaleshars, we will spread the teachings of Sanatana Dharma around the world, including living a life of righteousness, serving and contributing to a better society.
We will create ashrams in different countries, serving as educational and community centers, carrying out humanitarian work and empowering women. It is a legacy in conscious creation. consciousness through their purity, devotion, and discipline. Their purpose and joy lie in the seva (selfless service) of enlightenment, breathing every moment for the Supreme.
